3-5 Year Olds
No Parental Participation.
Must be 3 by the first day of the session.
The goals of the Preschool Swimming Program are to introduce children (ages 3 to 5) to the fundamentals of swimming, boating, and water safety. It is an opportunity to develop social skills, body awareness, and independence; to create a pleasant, fun atmosphere; and to develop children's self-esteem.
All classes are two days a week except Friday and Saturday. Students must attend both days of two-day classes.

Tadpole
- This program is designed for the child (3-5) that has a slight fear of the water and not ready to be in a structured program. Water exploration and acclimation are the primary focus of this program. After successful completion of this program, swimmers will be ready to participate in the Pike class.

Pike
- Pool rules; orientation to the water; front & back float; front & back paddle (10 ft.); know when to yell for help; dial emergency number.

Eel
- Pool and class rules; front & back float; jumping in; front & back paddle (20 ft.); performing reaching assist; know how to ask an adult for help.

Rays
- Name four diving safety rules; front & back float (30 seconds); tread water (20-30 seconds); HELP position (1 minute); learn safety precautions; front crawl (25 ft.); back crawl (25 ft.); do throwing assist.

Starfish
- Name four diving safety rules; front & back float (1 minute); tread water (1 minute); enter/exit a boat safely; front crawl (40 ft.); back crawl (40 ft.); breaststroke (15 ft.); kneeling dive; observe rescue breathing.

- Combined class works on skills in each level; refining and reinforcing skills.
