St. Mary Medical Center

The Valparaiso Family YMCA announced St. Mary Medical Center as its new Healthcare Engagement Partner in February 2016.

This exciting collaboration brings wellness and comprehensive programs to the community designed to maintain a high level of well-being and healthy living through proper diet, exercise, stress management and illness prevention.  The joint partnership includes a St. Mary Medical Center liaison, Christy Cleveland, registered RN, who will be coordinating blood pressure and BMI checks, seminars, lunch and learn events at the Valpo Y for members and the community. The support from St. Mary Medical Center will provide funds for programs and education for our members and their families as well as offer the convenience of healthcare at our facility. We welcome Christy who brings 30+ years of experience which includes, critical care, cardiac rehab and health and wellness.

Closely aligned missions brought these two nonprofit organizations together. This partnership has resulted in a shared goal of wanting to change the way health care is delivered in Northwest Indiana; and what better way to achieve it than through a community gathering place of over 16,000 members, like the Valparaiso YMCA.
