Adult Aquatics

Welcome to Adult Aquatics!

SPECIAL SUMMER EVENT

Our goal is to help our participants grow mentally, physically, and spiritually, through instructional (Swim Lessons, Water Fitness, Specialty) and Recreational programs, designed for all ages, abilities, levels, and interests. These programs lay a foundation of water skills and safety guidelines so you can enjoy a lifetime of safe, healthy aquatic activities. Be sure to check our Aquatics bulletin board in the hallway between the Leisure Pool and Lap Pool entrance doors for the current Pool Schedule, program registration reminders, and Aquatics happenings.

Staff

All Aquatics staff members receive trainings in child abuse prevention, disease transmission prevention, and customer service. Our lifeguards hold current certifications in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid, and Professional Rescuer CPR/AED. Our instructors may hold the same certifications as our lifeguards, as well as other job-related certifications. At least one lifeguard is on duty during pool operating hours.

Programs

We now offer American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid for professional rescuers and health care providers, as well as for those who seek it for the workplace, schools, and personal skill.

Our Adult Swim Lessons give every participant the chance to learn and succeed, and every lesson includes the Y’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Our Adult Water Fitness programs encourage people of all ages and abilities to use the buoyant qualities of water to enhance their physical fitness through exercises. Water Fitness an ideal form of exercise for all ages as it increases physical strength and endurance without putting excess strain on joints. Most Water Fitness programs require no swimming skills, and range in intensity from low to high.

Our Adult Specialty programs include Adaptive Recreation and Leisure Program and American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification, Re-certification, and Lifeguard Instructor Certification.

Our Recreational programs include Lap Swim and Open Swim. Please be sure to check the current Pool schedule for available times and features.
