Volunteer Opportunities

volunteer [vol-uhn-teer] n. a person who voluntarily offers himself or herself for a service or undertaking at the Valparaiso Family YMCA in order to help others, while meeting new friends and having fun

The Y prospers from community support, and your interest in our program is very much appreciated.

We currently utilize over 200 program volunteers each year.  Many of our larger programs and events simply could not be offered without assistance from our volunteers.

Our volunteers represent the Y and work hand-in-hand with our staff as we strive to incorporate our core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility in all of our programs, facilities, and events.

Three Ways to Volunteer

We welcome individuals to assist with a one-day special event; on a periodic, as needed basis; or, as a Scheduled Volunteer in which you would have a set schedule of at least 6 hours per week.

How to Apply

Your first step in getting started will be to complete a volunteer application, which can be obtained at the Courtesy Desk or here.  Once the application is returned, you will be contacted by the department overseeing that volunteer opportunity.

If you or your service organization would like to volunteer for the Valparaiso Family YMCA, please contact Jodi Jackson, Volunteer Coordinator, at 462-4185 ext. 233 or by e-mail: jjackson@valpoymca.org.
