Youth Development
The Y is deeply concerned about the development and education of children of all ages and walks of life. Our goal is to provide a safe, nurturing environment in which children can grow strong spiritually, mentally, and physically. Rather than focus on one societal need, the YMCA is charged with providing a well-rounded offering of learning opportunities, including sports, swimming, wellness, and childcare programs. Parents are encouraged to select a balance of programs that best meet their needs and interests of their families.
Sports classes, leagues and clinics build character and self-esteem in addition to strong bodies.
Swim instruction for all ages creates a water-safe community.
Wellness programs support our community in the fight against childhood obesity and related illnesses.
Childcare services for children of all ages, from toddlerhood to middle school, support working parents.
Family Time activities provide numerous opportunities to play and learn together in structured and open programs, classes, and events. (Family programs can be found at Healthy Living > Family Time.)
